Rydel tuning fork
Instruction sheet
Rydel-Seiffer
tuning fork reference list
Rydel Seiffer 64/128 Hz graduated tuning fork. End weights convert the
tuning
fork from 128 to 64 Hz. The weights have been scaled allowing
reliable
quatitative vibratory testing. As the intensity of the vibration
starts
to diminish the two triangles move closer together again and their
point
of intersection moves slowly upwards. The intensity at which the
patient
no longer detects the vibration is read as the number adjacent to the
intersection
of the triangles. Instructional sheet, references and values for
normal healthy controls are included [JNNP 1998;65(5):743-7].

very
large tuning fork (length 36cm) incorporates

Gardiner Brown model. Helpful in determining conductive or sensory

determined
based on the number of seconds (plus or minus) from the point when the
examiner
loses the vibratory sensation vs. when the patient no longer detects
the
vibratory stimulus.
